What this site is

Wool Watt is an independent publication covering electric blankets, heated throws and heated mattress pads, published by Slate Mill Group. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not, please do not use the site.

What the content is, and is not

• It is a compilation of published specifications, with each figure cited to the manufacturer listing it came from, plus arithmetic we performed on those figures and showed on the page.
• It is not the result of testing. We have tested zero units. No page here should be read as a report of hands-on evaluation, because none of it is.
• It is not medical advice. Several pages touch on who should or should not use heated bedding. Those are summaries of manufacturer instructions and general considerations, never clinical guidance. Consult a qualified professional.
• It is not professional electrical advice. Where we describe safety standards or electrical characteristics we are reporting what manufacturers and standards bodies publish, not advising on your installation.
• It is not a substitute for the manufacturer's instructions. The instructions that came with your product govern that product. Where they differ from anything here, follow them.

Accuracy and the limits of it

We take accuracy seriously enough to build the whole site around it: every number is sourced, the arithmetic is published, and where a manufacturer publishes nothing we say so rather than estimating. Our sourcing standards are on the editorial policy.

Even so, manufacturers rewrite listings without notice, specifications change between production runs, retailers list products inconsistently, and we can misread something. Content is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Verify any specification that matters to your purchase, your safety or your budget directly with the manufacturer.

You are welcome to quote or cite this site with attribution and a link, including our compiled wattage figures, which is the entire reason we publish them with sources. Wholesale reproduction of pages is not permitted.

We link to manufacturer listings, retailers, government data sources and standards bodies. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability. A link is a citation, not an endorsement of everything on the destination.

Acceptable use

• Do not use the contact form to send unsolicited commercial messages. It is rate limited and monitored.
• Do not attempt to interfere with the site, its infrastructure or its availability.
• Automated crawling is welcome within the terms of our robots.txt, which permits every major search and AI crawler deliberately.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the last-updated date at the top of the page changes when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
