Sourcing standards

The second column of that table is the operative one. An aggregator publishing a single 400 W figure for every blanket at every size is the exact thing we will not do, and noticing that such figures circulate unsourced is part of why this site exists.

Claims we will never make

• That we tested anything. We have tested zero units. No page will ever say "in our testing", "we slept under", "after a month of use" or "we measured".
• A credential nobody here holds. No electrician, no engineer, no sleep specialist, no medical reviewer, no expert panel.
• A fabricated review or testimonial. There are no customer testimonials on this site and there never will be unless they are real, attributed and sourced.
• A rating we invented. No self-authored star rating appears on this site or in its structured data, because a score we made up marked up as a review rating would be a fabrication.
• Medical advice. Where a question is clinical we say so and point to a clinician.
• A price we cannot verify. No live price means the button says Check price.

What gets a product excluded

1. 1It cannot be resolved to a live listing. Every product here was read off a real retailer page.
2. 2It has an open safety recall. Checked against the CPSC database.
3. 3Its buy link cannot exist. We do not write a recommendation the reader cannot act on.
4. 4Its only claim is unquantified. A product whose entire differentiation is an unmeasured marketing phrase is not ranked on that phrase.

Independence

No advertiser, manufacturer or affiliate program has any input into what appears here, in what order, or what we say about it. We accept no free products and no sponsored placements, and every link on the site goes to a single retailer under a single program, so there is no product we could favor for a better rate. Detail on how we are funded.

Corrections

We will get things wrong. Manufacturers rewrite listings, specifications change, and we may simply misread something.

3. 3We fix the page and date the fix. The updated date on the page changes.

AI and how this content is made

Worth stating because plenty of sites do not. Content here is assembled from manufacturer listings that were read and recorded during a research pass, and the arithmetic is computed from those figures by the code that renders the page rather than typed by hand. That is why the cost in a table and the cost in a paragraph can never disagree.

What that process does not do is invent a number. If a manufacturer publishes no wattage, no stage of this pipeline is permitted to supply one, and the page says the figure is not published instead. That constraint is enforced in the data model itself: a wattage cannot be stored without a citation.
